Life now on the other side of the bay
Dang it's been more than a month since I last post an entry here. Lots of things have happened. Instead of living in Lafayette, I am actually living in San Francisco! Amazing isn't it??? Thanks to Jaime who went to check out the place with me on a monday night. If she didn't go with me, I dunno if I would have checked out the place. It's in the Mission District, so I definitely didn't want to check it out on my own. and I remember praying to God a week before that if he really wants me to be in SF, he will provide a place for me by October. Bold? Well, I felt like I have nothing to lose really. It's either I move in October or wait till the holiday seasons are over. But I do believe that He is leading me here...I dunno exactly for what reason, but I guess I will find out. :)
This Fall Quarter, I am continuing to take the piano class at the Jazz School in Berkeley. The class is so awesome. The tuition isn't cheap, but the investment is totally worth it. I'm learning so much music theory and a chance to practice chords. It's definitely a good hobby. I'm can play Blue Moon with the turnaround chords. It actually quite simple and for the pianists out there you might think this is elementary stuff because it's just four chords repeating until the segment where it changes key for a few measure. haha But for me, this is new stuff and piano is not so foreign to me anymore. It's great and I can't wait to take the jazz piano next quarter...that is if I can get pretty good at what I'm learning in the class now.
AND last but not least...here's a picture for my xanga readers:
It's my boyfriend Kellen. :D
So far, he's definitely more than what I asked for. :P

Cardboard Testimony
I wasn't there that Sunday when Christian City Church (aka C3) had the cardboard testimony. I think it might have been the weekend of the bridal shower. After seeing this video clip, I can't help but be amazed at how God can turn life around for good. =) And what makes this video special is that two of the girls I went to small group with went up there, too.

Less than a month away...
This entry is long overdue, but here are some pictures from the LA trip I went last month. It's a trip to hang out with Vicky before she become Mrs. Kuan!!! :D
So when Trisha and I got to Burbank, Vicky and Justin picked us up and went to a restaurant called Q-cina. It's pretty small, but they have this Kobe burger that we got.
It was pretty tasty. I never really have gourmet burger that much, so I was definitely surprise how different they are compare with the fast food ones. haha
On Friday night, we watched Ugly Truth. It was a pretty funny and cute movie, but personally, I expected a bit more.
This is a breakfast/lunch place we went to for omelette and waffle. Here's an up close picture of the lover's waffle we got:
Here's me and the bride-to-be:
And here's our relaxed face:
On Saturday, Vicky and Justin took us to Huntington Library. It's this huge park with different types of garden and a mansion that have exhibits of stuff from way back in the days.
That night, we watch When Harry Met Sally. It's such a GOOD MOVIE!! I'm so happy that I finally got to watch it. and now i understand why Harry Connick Jr. is so popular. haha
The last stop of the trip for me was to get some fro-yo. We couldn't decide which one to go, but then when we got to the Korean Market for lunch, this lady gave us coupons to a new fro-yo for 50% off.

Is He Your Type?
I got asked that question and I think it’s a funny question. I never really thought about what kind of guy is my type. Is it the same as having a list of characteristics that I want in a guy? I would say so far all my crushes have not been my type because they all seem so out of my league. Haha. And as for those who aren’t out of my league, that doesn’t mean they’re my type either.
But if I were to make a list of the IDEAL guy I want to be with, here they are:
- A Christian, coz faith is a big part in my life and it would help a lot if I can share my life with someone who understand the spiritual journey and have the same perspective in life. I know I won’t be able to get the encouragement I need from a non Christian and I would feel alone in that relationship even if I try to explain it
- A musician, meaning someone who’s really passionate about making music, not just someone who knows how to play an instrument
- Can cook, coz I don’t quite know how (I know enough to survive ha!)
- Dorky, funny, goofy but at the same time know when to be serious
- Have good social skills
- Aware of what’s going on with current events
- Like kids
- Know how to speak Chinese (any of the dialect is fine, but Cantonese is a bonus, but he cannot be a FOB because I need to speak English when it comes to talking about intangible subjects)
- Like to swing dance (lindy hop)
- Have a desire to make a difference/make an impact in the community
That’s all I can come up with at the moment. I’m not sure if I would have more to add to it, but in the end I probably would just care about whether he’s a Christian, fun to be with, and makes me feel comfortable to be myself around him.
